Informatie voor koks / Information for chefs

Please scroll down for English.

I don’t speak Dutch. Can I participate?
Yes, of course! The Walking Dinner welcomes all neighbours from Willemspark and Archipel – Dutch and international. Please scroll down for information in English.

English

Who can participate in the Walking Dinner?
The purpose of Walking Dinner is to get acquainted with local residents. Participants must therefore reside in Willemspark or Archipel. The minimum age for participation is 18 years.

I do not speak Dutch. Can I participate?
Yes, of course! The Walking Dinner welcomes all neighbours from Willemspark and Archipel – Dutch and international.

What is expected of me as a chef?
The chefs cook in their own kitchen a starter, main and/or dessert. For each course a new group of guests will sit at your table. The main aim is to cook a nice meal, enjoy eating together and to get to know your fellow neighbours. Of course, chefs are also welcome at the kick-off and the closing reception.

How can I register for the Walking Dinner?
Registration via the Tab Registration.

I want to cook, but not three courses. Is that possible?
Yes, that’s possible. You can register as part time chef and cook one or two courses. For the course(s) you’re not cooking, you will join other participants as a guest at a different address. Please use the registration form for guests and specify that you are available as part time chef.

What shall I cook?
You decide what you cook. Haute cuisine is not necessary. In previous editions, a lot of different dishes were served, from French to Asian, from ceviche to ice cream. Choose something you find delicious and fun to present!

Who will sit at my table?
A few days before the Walking Dinner you will receive an email with the names of guests who will come to dine with you. We will also indicate any dietary restrictions (if applicable).

For how many guests do I cook?
Chefs indicate for how many guests they would like to cook. Usually groups consist of about 6 to 8 people, but to cook for more or fewer guests is also possible. It goes without saying that chefs eat their dinner together with their guests!

How much does it cost to participate?
Participation is free for chefs who cook three courses. They receive an allowance to do the shopping for the event as well as wine (per seat and per course). Part time chefs initially pay for a three-course menu and will be reimbursed later for the courses they prepare.

Information evening (and wine tasting) for chefs
Two weeks before the Walking Dinner an information event is organised for all chefs. During this event we like to hear from the chefs what they plan to cook so we can take certain things into account for our guests with allergies and/or other restrictions.

REIMBURSEMENTS Per available seat for the entire evening you will receive a €22.50 reimbursement for ingredients. The wine, one bottle per seat, will be provided by Wijn op Dronk. For example, if you offer 6 chairs, which means you can receive six guests per course, you will receive €22.50 x 6 = €135.00 from the Walking Dinner Team, plus six bottles of wine.
