WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU SIGN UP AS CHEF?
As a chef, you are supposed to prepare a 3-course meal in your own kitchen. At every course a new group of guests will arrive and join you at the dinner table. You can choose how many guests you would like to receive. Average groups are 6-8 people, but you can also opt for more or fewer people. You will join their guests at the table. Chefs will receive compensation for the costs of ingredients and one complimentary bottle of wine per seat. We also give the opportunity to chefs to only prepare 1 or 2 courses. We will try to match you with another ‘part-time’ chef. More information can be found at the bottom of this page.
REIMBURSEMENTS Per available seat for the entire evening you will receive a €19.50 reimbursement for ingredients. The wine, one bottle per seat, will be provided by Wijn op Dronk. For example, if you offer 6 chairs, which means you can receive six guests per course, you will receive €19.50 x 6 = €117.00 from the Walking Dinner Team, plus six bottles of wine.
INFORMATION EVENING FOR CHEFS
Two weeks before the Walking Dinner an information evening for the Chefs will be organized. At this information evening, you are asked to share what you are planning to with the Walking Dinner team (which ingredients you will be using). We will use this information into account when matching guests who have dietary restrictions with Chefs. The information evening will take place at at Wijn op Dronk, Balistraat 81b, where you will also be able to taste and choose the wine for your own dinner. You can pick up your selected wines in the week prior to the Walking Dinner at Wijn op Dronk. It is also possible to order a more expensive wine or extra wine. (You will be asked to cover extra costs yourself.
WHO CAN I EXPECT AT MY DINNER TABLE?
A few days before the Walking Dinner you will receive a list with the names of the guests (per course) who will come to your home. If you have indicated that you can cater for certain dietary wishes, this will be specified per guest.
FINISHING THE WALKING DINNER ‘GEZELLIG’ TOGETHER WITH YOU!
The end of the Walking Dinner will take place at Brasserie Banks. Please join your last group of guests to the brasserie for a drink and a chat with the other participants.
FOR PART-TIME-CHEFS: REINBURSEMENTS AND PAYMENTS PER COURSE
You can register as a “Part-Course-chef” at the registration. The “Part-Course-Chefs” can add their preferences for courses in the remarks field. You will be contacted at a later stage by one of our Team members in order to make the match for the number of guests and the courses with the other “Part-Course-Chef”. In case you prefer to cook 1 or 2 courses, you will be reimbursed as follows: €5 per head for the starter, € 11 for the main course and € 3.50 for the dessert. In case you cook 2 courses (for example the starter and the main meal), you will receive approx. 2/3rd bottle per person and for 1 course approx. 1/3rd bottle per person. As a guest you will pay € 10 for the starter, € 16,50 for the main meal and € 6 for the dessert.
